Application of Sargassum sp extract on juvenile sandfish nursery

Abstract Sea cucumbers are a high-value fauna that can be found on Kei Island’s coastal area. Because of overexploitation and poor management, the sea cucumber population Island has declined dramatically. To solve this problem, cultivation activities (breeding, nursery growth out) need to developed immediately. The aim study was utilize brown algae Sargassum sp support production sandfish seeds in Household-Scale Hatchery. This took place from April - May 2022 at Tual Teripang Center, Tual. Juveniles used as research objects with measuring between 3 15 mm size have stocking density 800 juveniles per tub. feed treatment included extract 300 gr/tub (Treatment A), 400 B), 500 C). Feeding given every day water changes 50 60% day. calculation survival rate is variable observed study. As supporting data, quality test measures were carried out. Three treatments different effects juvenile growth. best result obtained Treatment C. For survival, showed all had same effect sandfish. It concluded C better for than A B.
